Asimenia Gioftsidou is Assistant Professor, Physical Education & Sport Sciences Dept, DUTH with specification on Rehabilitation of Sports Injuries and Diseases. She has a rich scientific research work: 34 publications in Scopus, (H=10, citations=306), 42 Scientific short papers and more than 200 scientific international presentations (oral and poster). She was responsible in Rehabilitation design programs and Athletic trainer in PANTHRAKIKOS FC (First and Second Division Soccer Team), from 2008 to 2016. She is director and implementaion responsible of “FIFA 11+” (Injury prevention program for foorball) in Greece.

Seminar Instructor: Malliou Paraskevi, Professor, TEFAA-DUTH
Paraskevi Malliou is Professor, Physical Education & Sport Sciences Dept, DUTH with specification on Rehabilitation of Sports Injuries and Diseases. She has a rich scientific research work: 72 publications in Scopus, (H=16, citations=695) and more than 300 scientific international presentations (oral and poster). She is supervisor in “Therapeutic exercise and Rehabilitation Lab”, Dept of Physical Education & Sport Sciences, DUTH, from 2005 – present. She was responsible in Rehabilitation design programs and Athletic trainer in Skoda Xanthi FC, from 1996 to 2014.

Practice: Souzanna Kordosi, Teacher of Physical Education
Souzanna Kordosi is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science, DUTH, MSc in “Exercise & Quality of Life” (DPESS-DUTh & DPESS-Uth), and Ph.D. student at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (DPESS, DUTh). She is a Fitness Instructor in Pilates, Yoga, Aerial fitness, Functional training and Personal training.

Description
Therapeutic exercise in water combines the therapeutic benefits of the fluid component (such as buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure) with the benefits of performing specialized exercises. The therapeutic exercise in water is a useful tool, essential in the process of rehabilitation musculoskeletal problems. Special exercises for mobility, strength training, aerobic exercise and functional exercises for individuals who are either in the acute phase of an injury (eg after replacement of anterior cruciate ligament) or face chronic musculoskeletal problems (eg knee osteoarthritis). The theory of  this seminar will present specialized exercises that can be applied to people with musculoskeletal problems and will follow the practical application of the exercises using the appropriate equipment in the water.
